Locations in the travel discussion boards

Thanks to a proposal made by member “mikky mouth” we added a small new feature to the travel discussion boards on belodged.com. Next to user name and picture on each article there is from now on the author’s country displayed as well…

In addition please watch further features shown in the screen shots below!

Daylight saving time (DST) / summer time around the world in 2009

Many locations in the world set their clocks on Sunday, 25th October 2009 from 3am (03:00) to 2am (02:00) in their local times when they begin daylight saving time (DST). So the night is 1 hour longer! Don’t miss it !

The list below shows an (incomplete) overview over countries that plan to observe DST (also called summer time. When DST is not observed, it is called STANDARD TIME, NORMAL TIME or WINTER TIME) during 2009.

Problems with new version of Googles Chrome browser

We noticed some major problems by using the browser “Chrome” from Google in his actual version on belodged.com . Many forms can not be submitted. We are very sorry for this and trying to find the reason as soon as possible.

In this blog and via Twitter we will keep you up to date. Until this we recommend to use the browser Firefox (available in different languages and for free) .

Removed inactive members

The worldwide free accommodations on belodged.com are based on the activity of all members. So we remove inactive members (who did not activate the “absence”-function”) on a regular basis.  Today we deleted another 87 members.

For all others: It’s fun seeing the community growing up. Hope to see you soon somewhere in this world ;o).

belodged.com Newsletter was not send to rambler

We started yesterday to send out a newsletter. We do not spam you ,o). The last one is more then 3 months old. Members of the community for free accommodations belodged.com getting only a newsletter if there is really something important to say – and no advertisment at the moment.

We apologise to our russian speaking members who are using e-mails @rambler.ru or @rambler-co.ru .

Proudly presenting: the 'Community Ambassador'

The time is over where technical nerds raked up the discussion boards and answered your questions. From now on any e-mail correspondence from ‘programmers’ to the belodged.com community is stopped.  Only the cool Twitter tool remains in the hands of the belodged.com staff.  Once the team finishes sending Twitter messages, this will also be passed on to the ambassadors.

Though what are the ‘engineers’ belodged.com-twitter using for? They simply complain about the new ‘community ambassador’… ;o)

Well, it might happen that you recently stumbled upon a dude named “Community Ambassador” . This guy’s mission is

Small but nice improvement in the messaging system

As you know: You will be notified about every message in the anonymous messaging system in belodged.com. This notification is an e-mail you will get. Starting from now on the link in the notification will redirect you straight to the login form. AND after login you will be redirected straight to the inbox to read the new message.

This safes you more or less 2-5 clicks and page loads. So this is becoming more comfortable to you.
